It's hard to stay calm with the "Return of the Ancients" update just around the corner on May 29th. Let's be honest, patch 0.4 was a bit of a letdown for most of us, and the burnout was real. Between the stale Atlas loop and melee builds feeling like a total death wish, a lot of players just checked out. I've already started looking for POE 2 Currency for sale because I want to be ahead of the curve when the meta shifts. Tomorrow's livestream is the big moment where we see if GGG is actually going to fix the core issues that have been dragging the game down lately.

Melee is finally getting some loveThe arrival of the Duelist and Shadow is probably the most anticipated part of 0.5. Melee has been the underdog since the game launched, and it's been frustrating to watch casters have all the fun. With Swords finally getting their own dedicated weapon type, things are looking up. I've heard leaks about this unarmed lightning aura that procs on hits, which could be a game-changer for Monk builds. But what really matters is the balance between Life and Energy Shield. If GGG gives us the tools to stop feeling like glass cannons every time we get close to a boss, melee might actually be viable for high-level ladder play again.

Fixing the endgame grindThe current Tower system just isn't cutting it anymore. It lacks that addictive "one more map" pull that we all crave. I'm really hoping for a massive overhaul to how progression works. We need quest-driven Sanctuaries and rewards that actually scale properly instead of just relying on pure RNG. If they introduce something like an "Infinite Atlas" system, it would solve the repetition problem in an instant. Plus, new gems like the Demon Magus, which lets you autocast spells while you focus on movement, are going to open up so many new ways to play.

The inevitable nerf hammer and market shiftsOf course, it's not all good news. We know the nerfs are coming, and I'd bet anything that Temple and Expedition are on the chopping block. They're just too easy to scale right now, and GGG usually steps in when one mechanic becomes the "only" way to play. We're also likely seeing a rework of item rarity because the current "feast or famine" system is exhausting. I've been farming like a madman to prepare for these new Sword builds. If you don't have the hours to grind, using u4gm to grab some extra items or currency is a solid way to hit the ground running without the headache. It's going to be legendary if they nail this rework, and I can't wait to see what the community cooks up after the stream.
